Finding Your Anchor Position

Every great on-camera presenter has what we call an "anchor position" — a natural, comfortable stance they return to between movements. Think of it as your home base, the posture that feels both relaxed and confident.

Start by standing or sitting in a way that feels natural. Your shoulders should be back but not stiff. Your chin level, not tilted.

The Toolbar

The formatting toolbar sits at the top of the editor canvas, providing quick access to every formatting option available in Authorio. Tools are organized into logical groups separated by dividers, so you can find what you need at a glance.

Text Formatting

The formatting group includes four inline styles you can apply to selected text:

  • Bold -- Emphasize key terms, important concepts, or names.
  • Italic -- Use for titles of works, foreign words, or subtle emphasis.
  • Underline -- Mark text that needs attention, though use sparingly in book content.
  • Strikethrough -- Show deleted or superseded content, often used for stylistic effect.

Select any text in your content and click the corresponding toolbar button to apply or remove formatting. Multiple formats can be combined on the same text.

Alignment

Every text block can be aligned independently using the three alignment options:

  • Left -- The default alignment for body text and the standard for most book content.
  • Center -- Useful for headings, epigraphs, or stylistic elements.
  • Right -- Occasionally used for attributions, dates, or specialized layouts.

The currently active alignment is highlighted in the toolbar so you can see the state of the selected block at a glance.

The link tool lets you turn selected text into a clickable hyperlink. This is especially useful for digital book formats (EPUB, PDF) where readers can follow URLs to external resources, landing pages, or related content.

Headings

The toolbar includes dedicated buttons for Heading 1, Heading 2, and Heading 3. Click a heading button to convert the current block to that heading level, or click it again to revert back to a regular paragraph.

Lists

Two list buttons in the toolbar let you toggle between bullet lists and numbered lists. Select a text block and click the appropriate list button to convert it. See Lists and Blockquotes for more on working with lists.

AI Assist Button

At the far right of the toolbar, the AI Assist button opens a conversational editing interface. Use it to request rewrites, expansions, tone adjustments, or other AI-powered modifications to your selected content. This feature lets you collaborate with the AI without leaving the editor.
