Available Formats

Authorio supports six export options, each designed for a specific use case:

  • PDF -- Print-ready files with headers, footers, and pagination. The most versatile format for sharing, reviewing, and printing.
  • EPUB -- The industry-standard e-reader format. Compatible with Apple Books, Kobo, and most reading apps.
  • Kindle (KDP) -- Amazon KDP-compliant files formatted for Kindle publishing.
  • Print-Ready -- Files with bleed, trim marks, and print-on-demand specifications for physical book production.
  • Cover Image -- A standalone export of your book's cover, suitable for storefronts and marketing materials.
  • Share Link -- A public URL with a custom background that lets anyone view your book online.

Choosing the Right Format

The format you need depends on where your book is going:

  • Sharing with clients or collaborators -- Use PDF for a polished, paginated document, or generate a Share Link for instant browser-based access.
  • Selling on Amazon -- Use Kindle (KDP) for the e-book and Print-Ready for the paperback edition.
  • Distributing to e-reader platforms -- Use EPUB for broad compatibility across devices and apps.
  • Printing physical copies -- Use Print-Ready for files that meet print-on-demand specifications.
  • Marketing and listings -- Use Cover Image to get a standalone version of your cover for websites, social media, and store listings.

You can export the same book in multiple formats. Each export is independent, so choosing one does not affect the others.

The Export Panel

The export panel displays your book's current statistics -- the number of chapters, pages, and total word count -- so you can confirm your manuscript is complete before exporting. These stats update based on your content, giving you an accurate picture of the final output.

Above the stats, the six format options are displayed as selectable cards. Click any format to select it, then use the export button to generate your file.

One-Click Export

Exporting is a single action. Select your desired format in the export panel and click the export button. Authorio generates the file with all your content, cover design, and theme settings applied. Once processing is complete, your file is ready to download.

There is no additional configuration required. The formatting, pagination, headers, footers, and styling you set up in the editor and theme tabs carry through to the exported file automatically.
