Managing Shared Links

Revoke, update, and manage your shared book links

Updated 2026-02-26

When you generate a share link for a book, it remains associated with that book project. You can view your active share links from the export panel. This lets you keep track of which books have public URLs and who might have access to them.

Each active link shows the URL that was generated, so you can copy it again if needed or verify which link you have shared with a specific person or audience.

Revoking Access

If you no longer want a share link to be accessible, you can revoke it. Revoking a share link disables the public URL immediately. Anyone who tries to visit the link after it has been revoked will no longer be able to view the book.

Revocation is useful when:

  • A review period has ended -- You shared the book with a client for feedback and the review is complete.
  • Content has changed significantly -- Your book has been updated and you want to prevent people from reading an outdated version.
  • Access was shared too broadly -- The link was forwarded to people outside your intended audience.

After revoking a link, you can always generate a new one if you need to share the book again.

Updating Shared Content

Share links reflect the current state of your book. If you make edits to your content, cover, or theme after generating a share link, the changes are reflected in what readers see when they visit the URL. This means you do not need to generate a new link every time you make an update -- the existing link serves the latest version of your book.

This is particularly helpful during iterative review cycles. You can share a link with a client, make revisions based on their feedback, and they can revisit the same URL to see the updated version without any additional steps.

  • Share deliberately -- Once someone has the link, they can forward it to others. Only distribute links to people you intend to have access.
  • Revoke when no longer needed -- If a link was created for a specific purpose like a client review, revoke it once that purpose is fulfilled.
  • Use export for permanent distribution -- Share links are best for temporary or interactive access. For permanent distribution, export as PDF, EPUB, or Kindle. Downloaded files give you more control over versioning.
  • Track who has access -- If you share links with multiple clients or audiences, note which link went to whom so you can manage revocation decisions later.
