Text Blocks

Text blocks are the foundation of your book. Each paragraph is its own block, making it easy to rearrange, edit, or delete individual paragraphs without affecting surrounding content. Text blocks support all inline formatting options including bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, and links.

Heading Blocks

Headings provide structure and help readers navigate your chapters. Authorio supports three heading levels:

  • H1 -- Chapter titles and major section breaks. Use sparingly, typically once per chapter.
  • H2 -- Primary section headings within a chapter. These are your main structural dividers.
  • H3 -- Subsection headings for breaking down topics within an H2 section.

Headings are rendered in serif typography to match the book's reading experience. A clear heading hierarchy makes your book scannable and professional.

Image Blocks

Image blocks let you embed visuals directly into your chapters. When you add an image block, you will see a placeholder with an upload area. Images support common formats and can be positioned within your content flow. See Working with Images for detailed guidance.

Blockquote Blocks

Blockquotes display text with a left border and italic styling, visually setting the content apart from regular paragraphs. Use them for quotations, testimonials, key takeaways, or any text you want to emphasize through visual distinction. See Lists and Blockquotes for more.

List Blocks

Authorio supports two list types:

  • Bullet lists (unordered) -- Best for items where sequence does not matter, such as features, tips, or examples.
  • Numbered lists (ordered) -- Best for sequential steps, ranked items, or processes where order matters.

Call-to-Action Blocks

CTA blocks are purpose-built for marketing content within your book. They let you embed lead magnets, promotional links, or other conversion-oriented content directly in your chapters. See Adding Calls to Action for details.

How to Add New Blocks

To add a new block, hover over any existing block and click the plus icon that appears to its left. This inserts a new block directly below the one you hovered over. You can then select the block type you want and begin adding content.
